Instructions for using LAND_IND.DEM demo
(Runway 23R ILS Approach & Landing at Indianapolis International)
First run FINAL APPROACH's RUNWAY program. Select the Indianapolis
scenery area and then select 23IND as the active runways. Your demo
flight will then land with, not against or across, the other air
traffic.
Make sure that the LAND_IND.DEM file was copied from your FINAL
APPROACH Indianapolis scenery disk to your Flight Simulator
IND - page 3 of 4
Not For Real World Aerial Navigation
subdirectory. The installation program will automatically do this
except when using the special installation option where the user
designated where the scenery files will be located. Run Flight
Simulator.
If you have the Midwest Scenery Disk, set automatic scenery
selection by pressing 5 then 2 then A . (A plus in front of
the A shows that automatic scenery selection is active.) Now press
the spacebar.
Run the Indianapolis LAND_IND demo by pressing 1 then H .
Select LAND_IND by pressing the number in front of that demo. If
necessary, press 6 to see more demo choices. After selecting the
demo, press spacebar and the demo will run.
You can exit the demo by pressing the ESC key. If you run the demo
until it ends, you will find your aircraft taxiing towards the
Indianapolis passenger terminal.
If you run the LAND_IND demo starting from outside the Indianapolis
scenery area, the Indy dynamic scenery will be reset to start at the
same time that the demo starts. You will find yourself approaching
Indianapolis International in position to observe two other aircraft
on their approaches. In fact you'll get a very good view of the
aircraft approaching runway 23L.
If you're already in the Indianapolis scenery area and want to have
the other aircraft arrive with that same timing, you need to
manually reset the dynamic scenery to start. Do this by pressing 1
then J then 8 then press spacebar. Immediately after that
press 1 then H to enter the demo selection menu and then select
the LAND_IND demo.
